Prescot & Whiston Community Advice Centre
About Us
Welcome to our Centre....
Since our opening on 10th June 1985 the Prescot and Whiston Community Advice Centre has had 2 main aims:
* To identify and serve the needs of the local Community through the provision of a free and impartial Welfare Rights service.
* To campaign with and on behalf of the local Community against any proposition by Government or other body which would prove detrimental to the well being of any section of that Community and to campaign for improvements to services, benefits living conditions etc which will enhance the lives of our community members.
We are a registered charity and as such offer a completely free service to all members of the public who reside or work in Knowsley. Unfortunately, we are unable to see clients who do not reside or work in the Borough of Knowsley.
We are a TUC affiliated Welfare Rights Advice Centre based in Prescot Town Centre on Merseyside. We are part of a network of TUC advice centres' that are located throughout the country.
Our Centre is located within an open-plan multi-agency office above the museum and library in Prescot Shopping Centre. Full disabled access is available.
The Centre provides a free and impartial welfare rights service including benefit advice, assistance with benefit applications and help with Social Security appeal tribunals to those who reside or work in the Borough of Knowsley.
We are also a Knowsley foodbank agent. As a registered foodbank agent we hold vouchers, which we can give to an individual or family in crisis. On receipt of a voucher the client can take it to a distribution point. They can then exchange the voucher for a supply of food items (enough for 3 days). For more information please contact us.
Our contact number is 0151 443 4639 and we are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.
